9. Daddy's Home 2 - Mel Gibson

Given his personal life (and public life) issues over the past few years, it's pretty fair to say that Mel Gibson remains something of an acquired taste. After all, accusations of bigotry and domestic violence have an awfully quick way of over-shadowing your body of work, no matter how great you've been over the years.

And while Gibson has had something of a boost recently after Hacksaw Ridge picked up Oscar buzz, there's still an odorous weight in the air around him, and he could do with something to shift the tide.

By the look of it, his performance as Grandpa Kurt in Daddy's Home 2 might just do it. He's set to play a douche-bag, deadbeat dad to Mark Wahlberg, and even from the first trailer there's lashings of self-awareness in there. And having him in a cast dynamic including Will Ferrell, Wahlberg, John Lithgow and John Cena should help ensure they all come off great.
