10 Upcoming Movies-Turned-TV Shows To Watch After Westworld

The Films

The film that propelled veteran actor (and former Jedi Master) Liam Neeson into late-career action hero, Taken was the B movie that became cultural phenomenon. And the source of many a meme. Bryan Mills (Neeson) is a loving father, putting his particular set of skills to use, by killing his way through Europe, trying to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

Not a great film but undeniably watchable, it seemed the franchise had exhausted its preposterous premise through two markedly inferior sequels.

The TV Show

NBC announced that a TV take on the films will be coming to small screen in 2017. With no Neeson in sight, it falls to fellow Northern Irishman Clive Standen (Vikings) to take the reins as Bryan Mills. Rather than follow on from Neeson Euro-ass-kicking handy work, the series will go back in time, focusing on Mills' younger days.

Will It Work?

To be fair, the original movie shouldn't have worked, but it did. So who can predict? Either way, let's hope that the young Bryan has the chance to hone those skills his older self is always banging on about.
