Release Date: June 25, 2015 Terminator Genysis marks the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger to the franchise that made him a household name over 30 years ago - if that's not a reason to get excited, what is? And yet there is a cloud of confusion that hangs over Terminator Genysis; one that has both fans and casual viewers of this classic franchise alike wondering how the timeline fits together when Genysis - from what movie-goers have been told, anyway - purports to be reboot, and yet Schwarzenegger remains squarely involved. Not to mention the fact that the actor turned politician is approaching 70. How does an elderly T-800 fit into this newly established world? Truth is: nobody is quite sure. And at first, this confusion over the franchise's position seemed to dull the hype that might have otherwise propelled a belated movie like Terminator Genysis. And yet, slowly, the hype has eased in. Mainly by way of a couple of fairly interesting trailers, Terminator Genysis - with its casting of Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke and its seemingly playful, balls to the walls franchise mash-up approach to sequel-making - has spiked fan interest. But there's a good chance that disappointment is on the cards for all those who are willing to give this movie a chance; will delivering a sort of "Terminator: Greatest Hits" keep fans happy, or will it seem like a cop-out? But don't let hype get the better of you no matter how you approach this flick; an above-average blockbuster will do the trick just fine - and that's probably what Genysis will turn out to be.
