Release Date: July 17, 2015 Ant-Man differs somewhat from the other movies on this list in the sense that the hype surrounding it seems to be mostly negative - but it's hype nonetheless, if the definition of the word is to be recognised. So many people seem to have condemned Ant-Man before having actually seen it - even if the last trailer managed to sell the concept to a lot more folk in its attempts to show the hero, played by Paul Rudd, in a more comical light. Basically, it appears as though Ant-Man kind of knows how inherently silly it is, because there was a scene in the trailer with Thomas the Tank Engine and... well, you know, you've probably watched it twenty times by now. Movie-goers are a lot less interested in Ant-Man, of course, because Ant-Man isn't a flagship Marvel character. Then again, Marvel managed to sell audiences Iron Man as an A-list character when they couldn't get the rights to Spider-Man, so have faith; there's a good chance that, despite the lack of Edgar Wright (so sad) Ant-Man could change your mind entirely. Peyton Reed's track record isn't spectacular, sure, but those Marvel guys are fantastic mentors. All said and done - whatever you happen to think - don't let the negative vibes surrounding Ant-Man and its supposed fate as "the MCU's first flop" swing your vote; give Ant-Man the benefit of the doubt. It is, after all, a movie in the MCU canon, and - given the MCU's track record thus far - it's going to be worth your time.
