It impressively didn't take long for a M3GAN knock-off to materialise, and one that inexplicably stars Megan Fox no less.
Fox plays an AI android which is purchased by a struggling father (Michele Morrone) to help keep his home life in order, before things take a predictably twisted turn once the droid turns self-aware.
On one hand the trailer is absurd enough that it almost feels like a fake trailer produced by AI itself, but on the other, it's also surging with so much unrelenting kitsch potential that it's almost certainly going to find itself an appreciative audience one way or another.
Casting Megan Fox as a murderous, seductive fembot makes as much sense as anything else happening in this crazy world right now, even if this is certainly an unexpected entry into the hilariously oversaturated "evil AI/robot" genre.
Again, this isn't an SNL skit - it's a film you can rent or buy digitally soon enough.
