10 Upcoming Sequels Nobody Asked For (That Might Be Great)

4. Space Jam 2

Space Jam 2
Warner Bros & NBA & Consequence of Sound

Space Jam has picked up a reputation as being a cult classic in the same way that Bee Movie has. In that respect, it's a good, entertaining movie, but it was never going to pull up too many trees. It was just great watching Bugs Bunny play basketball with Michael Jordan and that's sometimes enough.

Back in those days when skating was the coolest possible thing and Tony Hawk was about the biggest name in X-sports possible, there was almost a sequel called Skate Jam, which might well have been awesome, but such is the magic of the idea that it might also have been utterly diabolical. That's just the coin you flip. It was scrapped because it wasn't deemed a job idea, presumably partly because Warner Bros didn't think Space Jam even needed a sequel. That right there is why nobody even thought about a direct sequel until it was announced that LeBron James was heading one.

It sounded like an April Fool's joke, in all honesty, but when you think about it, there's no reason why James - who is in fact great in comedy roles - can't emulate Michael Jordan. He's already a better actor and some might say a better basketball player (controversial, but them's the breaks) and if the sequel can recapture the charm of the original, we're in for a treat.
