10 Upcoming Sequels Nobody Asked For (That Might Be Great)

3. Bad Boys For Life

Bad Boys 2
Columbia Pictures

The first two Bad Boys films were legitimately great fun at the time. They were also very, very of their time, before Michael Bay had become the guy who put giant testicles on a Transformer and before his penchant for sloping camera angles and slow motion explosions had become a cliche. That's sort of why nobody would have been all that shocked if the franchise had stayed in the 1990s.

They also really weren't flawless and anyone who can remember the sight of two fake rats having sex in missionary position in the sequel probably has slightly less fond memories of the two films. And more importantly, Will Smith's career has moved on from this point: he might have played Deadshot, but he's hardly the guy you call when you want a Denzel Washington in Training Day without the corruption. Hell, you just call Denzel for that.

But Smith still has it in him to be great and Martin Lawrence is a lot better than his drizzling comedy work tends to suggest. Their chemistry works and if the script manages to update the premise and that chemistry remains, there's reason to be excited.
