10 "Upcoming" Sequels You Didn't Know Had Been Shelved

10. Triplets

It's A Sequel To: Twins (1988) Arnold Schwarzenegger keeps talking about Triplets - the belated sequel to comedy hit Twins, which he co-starred in with Danny DeVito back in the '80s - like it's something that is legitimately going to happen, but all signs actually point to the fact that the movie (which is also supposed to star Eddie Murphy) has been shelved indefinitely by Universal Pictures. That is, according to actor Josh Gad, who penned the script, Triplets is on hold. In his Reddit AMA back in January, he said the following about the state of the production:
"Universal, I think, hit the pause button temporarily for whatever reason - internally I think they are trying to figure out if they want to do a sequel or not. I would say if there's an outpouring of affection, that may move the needle, but I think it's on hold right now."
And that was literally the last thing anybody heard about the sequel, which doesn't bode all that well for its chances. Consider this one shelved, folks.
