10 "Upcoming" Sequels You Didn't Know Had Been Shelved

5. Beverly Hills Cop IV

It's A Sequel To: Beverly Hills Cop III (1994) Despite having been talked up for what feels like forever, Beverly Hills Cop 4 - the "long-awaited" sequel to Beverly Hills Cop 3 - isn't happening. At least, not anytime soon. Paramount have decided that, actually, no: this unnecessary sequel isn't all that important to them, and have temporarily shelved the project because they didn't want it to clash with the release of - wait for it! - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. And thus, just like that, it was wiped from their upcoming movie release schedule. The magic of Hollywood! The film had been previously slated for a 2016 release, with Eddie Murphy returning as Los Angeles cop Axel Foley, with Brett Ratner - who directed the star in 2011's Tower Heist - set to helm the flick. But Batman fighting Superman is way more important, obviously. Sorry, Eddie Murphy (well, not really - nobody cares about this getting made, right?).
