10 Tricky Costumes To Nail In Upcoming Comic Book Movies

2. Apocalypse - X-Men: Apocalypse

Apocalypse will become the live action X-Men's most powerful and monstrous foe when he appears in X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. While the look of Oscar Isaac's character will undoubtedly be created with a lot of CGI, there are certainly issues with it that could make it look a bit silly. Apocalypse is augmented with Celestial technology and the resulting armour often has various cables protruding from it. While there has been a lot of progress since 1997's Batman & Robin movie, images of the terrible depiction of Bane that appeared in it come to mind when you think of protruding cables. The fact that Apocalypse will be the most inhuman looking mutant to date means the X-Men franchise is making a big leap to begin with, so having him wear a costume that makes him look silly really won't help. Fox might want to scrap the classic external wiring for that reason and use a different look - perhaps the one from the Age of Apocalypse comic book arc, which had the character looking every bit as formidable as usual, but with a cape and no wires.
