10 Upcoming Superhero Movies Hollywood Needs To Stop Pretending Will Happen

It's not often that Marvel announce a new instalment in the MCU and it doesn't end up happening. Usually a slave to their slate, the studio have essentially stuck entirely to the string of sequels and origin movies they announced at Comic Con back in 2014, following through on them all with one exception: Inhumans.

Initially being bumped in favour of, understandably, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Inhumans was pushed out of its November 2nd 2018 release date to July 12th 2019, which then became the day the as-of-yet untitled Indiana Jones movie was set to drop.

A few months later Disney removed the superhero film from its upcoming slate entirely, which allegedly gave Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D more freedom to play around with their TV versions of the characters. Their popularity on the small screen led to their own show, which was unceremoniously cancelled after one season and aggressively negative reviews.

Feige has insisted the flick will still be a possibility in phase 4, but considering how tarnished the brand has become, it's unlikely to see it happening.
