10 Urban Legends That Should Be Horror Films

7. The Bunny Man Bridge

What's the Legend? The ghost of an escaped mental patient dressed like a bunny and wielding a hatchet is said to appear on a bridge (or in the underpass below it) in Fairfax County, Virginia, scaring the life out of locals before running screaming into the woods. The origin story changes in the telling and reported sightings spread as far as Washington, D.C. There's also a lot of wanton property damage associated with the Bunny Man thanks to that neat little axe of his. What's the Movie? There is a film that exists with a serial killer dressed like a bunny, but it doesn't really follow the legend at all, which is a shame. In an accurate retelling of the tale, the Bunny Man would obviously turn out to be real, going on a bloodthirsty rampage. Either take the supernatural route and have it be a ghost, or just some f'ed-up copycat teenager with a penchant for fancy dress... and murder.
