10 Utter Trash Horror Movies You Loved Anyway
1. Troll 2
There's perhaps no "so bad it's good" horror movie more infamous than Troll 2, an apparent sequel to 1986's Troll despite actually having no relation to it at all.
Claudio Fragasso's film is, by any typical metric of quality, an absolute car crash of a horror picture, yet one inexplicably transmuted into comedic brilliance through its sheer, compulsively watchable badness.
Basically every single creative choice in the writing, direction, and acting is completely wrong, and yet it adds up to a genuinely bewildering and charmingly weird slice of hilarious hokum.
There isn't a scene in Troll 2 that doesn't have off-kilter line readings or non-sequitur dialogue, but it all contributes towards a deeply strange experience that becomes almost hypnotic in its can't-look-away appeal.
Everybody of course loves the iconic "They're eating her!" scene, but Troll 2 is a rare terrible movie without a single boring moment.
Fragasso wastes not a second of the audience's time with this deeply demented horror-comedy clearly made with a lot of love and passion, even if it didn't pan out quite how the cast or crew intended.
Troll 2's cult fandom led one of the film's young stars, Michael Stephenson, to direct a follow-up documentary, 2009's Best Worst Movie, which is an absolute must-see for fans.
