10 Utterly Absurd Comic Book Villains (That Could Be Great On Film)

1. MODOK

1 Modok Cropped"Like a Frost Giant's head on an infant's body" €“ Thor Odinson MODOK's name is an acronym for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. He is a creation of the technology based terrorist organisation Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM). MODOK is highly ambitious and killed his former masters to assume control of AIM. MODOK has super human intelligence, a massive computer like memory bank and can accurately calculate the probability of future events in a way that appears like precognition. He also has mind control powers and can generate psi-beams and force fields. His body cannot support the weight of his head so he rides a special hover chair complete with highly advanced weaponry. MODOK and AIM have been significant recurring villains in the Marvel universe, particularly for Iron Man, Captain America and the Avengers. How could he possibly work in film? It would be a bit of a leap for either Iron Man or Captain America to have MODOK as a villain. To date we have only seen villains with tech based weapons, genetic enhancements and one guy with a red skull head. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is however about to get a whole lot more absurd with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. The groundwork for the introduction of MODOK has already been laid. AIM was introduced Iron Man 3 and a version of MODOK appeared in the official game for the film. Arnim Zola has been confirmed to reappear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and he may appear in his robot body form, which has a giant screen with his face on the torso, which looks a bit like MODOK. Plans for the robotic body have already appeared in the background of the first Captain America film. MODOK would be an intriguing, disgusting and amazing addition to the MCU. He would also be a great fuel for the comedy styling of Robert Downey Jr. What do you think? Is there another utterly absurd villain you want to see in film?
