2. Granny Goodness
Granny Goodness is truly as ugly, if not more ugly, than she looks. She is the matron of a twisted orphanage that uses brainwashing and torture to turn children into obedient warriors willing to kill and die for the tyrannical overlord Darkseid. She is also in charge of a highly trained female fighting force called the Female Furies. If that isn't absurd enough, in all of the animated incarnations of the character she is voiced by a man. Not only is Granny Goodness a trusted ally of the great DC villain Darkseid, she is a key character in the history of a number of heroes. Mister Miracle was raised in Granny's orphanage before becoming the first child to successfully escape. Big Barda was one of the most powerful of the Female Furies before escaping with Mister Miracle. Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Supergirl and Giganta were all brainwashed to serve as Female Furies for a time.
How could she possibly work in film? It is only a matter of time before Darkseid appears in a Superman or Justice League film. If Granny Goodness and her Female Furies appeared alongside Darkseid, it would add another level of interest and complexity. Granny Goodness and her Furies were used to great effect in the animated film Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, which was based on "The Supergirl from Krypton" comic book storyline. If Supergirl was ever to be rebooted in live action film, this storyline would be the one to use.
