10 Vampire Movies That Put Twilight To Shame

8. From Dusk Till Dawn

From Dusk Till Dawn is a vampire film that absolutely defies convention; the first half of the film is an entertaining but down-the-line crime caper, as two outlaw brothers Seth and Richie Gekko (George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino) kidnap a family in order to use them to escape to the Mexican border undetected. They cross the border, and then things start getting weird, as they arrive at the Titty Twister bar, and the night pulls in. Initially intoxicated by a combination of alcohol and the presence of cinema's sexist vampire, Santanico Pandemonium (Salma Hayek), things soon turn physical once everyone in the bar starts changing into vampires, causing the Gekkos and their hostages to have to stage a stand if they hope to get out alive. Robert Rodriguez's audacious mid-film twist makes for a thoroughly enjoyable half-vampire flick, boasting exceptional gore effects, hilarious one-liners and memorable characters (who can forget Tom Savini's "Sex Machine", who has a mini-gun attached to his crotch?). This is how you make a B-movie.
