10 Villains DC Movies Got Completely Wrong

1. Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin)

Arnold Schwarzenegger's performance as Batman & Robin's Mr. Freeze is so cartoony that it made Batman: The Animated Series look like live-action. This was comic book movie villainy at its most satirical: cringe-worthy ice puns every two seconds and an evil scheme that wouldn't have even made sense in Bizarro World.

It's impossible to take his plot to turn Gotham into a giant icicle seriously at face value, let alone with Arnie reeling off clangers like "let's kick some ice".

Victor Fries's genius-level intellect and the tragic backstory involving his wife is barely touched on as Schumacher and Schwarzenegger mostly played for laughs, with the Terminator star's portrayal parodying the genre better than Doctor Evil ever could.

Bane may be the furthest thing in the Schumacher Bat universe to his comic book counterpart, but Mr. Freeze is by far the most cheesy, which is quite the accomplishment considering he's up against Jim Carrey's Riddler.
