10 Villains DC Movies Got Completely Wrong

6. Steppenwolf (Justice League)

One of the chief criticisms of the recent Justice League movie is its handling of the main villain, Steppenwolf. The New God is portrayed as nothing more than a big alien punching bag for the heroes, with little motivation beyond being evil in the most black and white sense of the word.

To portray the alien warlord three dimensionally, the filmmakers could have explored Apokoliptian lore and delved into his relationship with the other New Gods, but they showed no ambition to make him anything more than walking malevolence.

As if underwriting a classic bad guy wan't enough, Steppenwolf is marred by terrible CGI and looks barely more convincing than a character from an early PlayStation 3 game, and on par with Henry Cavill's digital shave.

Actor Ciaran Hinds did his best providing the villain's thunderous vocals and mo-cap work, but there was little he could do about the wafer-thin script and poor CGI.
