10 Villains For The Spider-Man Reboot (And How To Use Them)

10. Kraven The Hunter

Kraven the Hunter is a scourge to animal lovers everywhere; where you see a cute, little puppy, Kraven sees a cute, little wall ornament. The Cruella de Ville of super villains, Kraven€™s only true weakness is his professional fur cleaning bill. Born Sergei Kravinoff, Kraven is the son of Russian aristocrats, alongside his half-brother, the confused Chameleon. Both brothers wound up as orphans after their father€™s death and their mother wound up in an asylum. Apparently, asylum€™s are equally as messed up in the Marvel universe as they are in that of their Distinguished Competition, because Sergei would end up gaining arachnophobia after seeing his mother mentally tormented in an asylum infested with spiders, causing her to later commit suicide. Kravinoff ended up relocating to Africa, where he discovered that he had a natural talent for both hunting and growing well-groomed facial hair. Dubbing himself Kraven the Hunter, he subsequently discovered a herbal potion in the Congo, which granted him animal instincts, alongside strength, sight, smell, hearing, speed and stamina. Do you remember the uproar over the American dentist who shot and killed a lion and then bragged about it on Facebook? Kraven is like that American dentist times ten, making him the Robin Williams-hunting Van Pelt of the Marvel Universe. How He Could Work In The Marvel Studio's Reboot: Kraven would be a perfect fit as the main antagonist for a rebooted Spider-Man; his back story is sympathetic and his motives are believable. As a big game hunter, Kraven is always searching for the next dangerous and rare beast to mount above his pool table. Coupled with the fact that he absolutely loathes spiders, a sentiment shared by every other person on this planet who isn€™t insane, Kraven turning his attention towards a literal Spider-Man makes perfect sense. Not only would Spider-Man be the ultimate trophy for Kraven, but Kraven would be a perfect test for Spidey, because if he is able to beat a man who is brave enough to wear leopard print stretch pants, then he will truly solidify himself as a hero for the masses.
