10 Villains That Will Appear In New The Amazing Spider-Man Movies

9. The Spider Slayer

Another man who has already appeared, and whose technology would fit perfectly into the Amazing Spider-Man world, is Alistair Smythe. In the Amazing Spider-Man 2 we were introduced to Smythe as one of the outspoken bullies of Max Dillon. You can even suggest that he was responsible for the creation of Electro, although it was indirectly. Comic book fans will recognise Smythe as the son of Spencer Smythe, creator of the Spider-Slayers, a series of robots that sought to destroy Spider-Man. Now, Spencer Smythe was commissioned by Jonah Jameson, which would give Mark Webb a way to introduce that character, but later died as a result of prolonged exposure to radioactive samples. Alistair Smythe would go on to take up his father€™s legacy, also looking to take out JJ as revenge for his father€™s death. He would at first work under fellow villain Kingpin, but leave to work on his own. This led to him creating an Ultimate Spider-Slayer suit, made of a bioorganic carapace that served as armour and gave him increased strength, as well as bird like talons for feet, a curved blade from each shoulder, blades on each forearm and a specially made web shooter akin to Spider-Mans. Given the mechanised suit we€™ve seen for Rhino already, it isn€™t hard to imagine that Smythe could be seen in his Ultimate Spider-Slayer suit at some point. Even better, this could lead to a legitimate reason to include Jonah Jameson, with a potential return to the role for J.K. Simmons making it even more enticing.
