10 Ways Being A Movie Nerd Will Ruin Your Life

8. You Never Watch As Many Films As You Would Like

hugo Being a movie nerd means you read about, hear about, look at, research and watch a terrifying number of films. You will come across thousands of films that will interest and intrigue you, and you vow to watch them all one day. You make lists, remember them, profile them, even buy them, put them into piles, but the sad fact remains that you just never watch as many as you would like. I don€™t doubt that there are more films than there are human hours, but what€™s truly sad is that even if you take away the bilge and just leave the films that interest you directly, then there still seems to be more films than you have time for. And if you like a film, then you re-watch it- ergo taking up precious hours where you could be watching another film. Case in point- in my collection I have 800 DVDs. I, on average, watch between three and five a week, and yet I can never get to the damn bottom! I give myself deadlines to clear a certain number, and never match them. I give myself even bigger deadlines, and I don€™t meet those either. I set myself some kind of quota- €œsix films this week for you€, but this is all in vain. It€™s just the way it is. It€™s the way it is for every other movie nerd I know. It€™s the saddest part of being a movie nerd, and also the most essential- it€™s probably the best reason I can think of as to why we watch movies. Just to clear those damn piles.

Such is my passion for films that some say my first word was "Tarantino"; this has since been refuted. But ever since my first trip to Toy Story 2 as a wee bonnie lad, I have been hooked to films of all shapes, sizes, and quality. I also write for my own blog; confirmedhorroraddict.blogspot.co.uk
