10 Ways Being A Movie Nerd Will Ruin Your Life

6. You Talk In Movie Quotes

Screen Shot 2013-06-14 at 14.32.49 This is interesting, and has arisen partly through the sheer vastness of film in the world. A movie nerd will often find himself talking, whether he is aware of it or not, in film quotes. It€™s a hazard, but not an easily avoided one, because there are so many films, and nerds watch so many of those films, and it is ergo actually incredibly easy to remember a fair few quotes which are easily deployed in many circumstances that occur in day to day life. Just to be clear on this- this isn€™t just randomly quoting a film that you€™ve seen lately; it€™s saying a quote which, if it didn€™t come from a film, would be applicable to the situation and would probably go unnoticed. It€™s probably a very sad, and lonely trait to have, to shoehorn film quotes into everyday conversation, but as I€™ve said, there are so many films out there that you€™re simply bound to come across a number of applicable quotes to general scenarios. A quick scan through my DVD collections reveals films with epithets about- Anthropology; €œMan is not an animal. We are not a part of the animal kingdom. We sit far above that crowd€ Religion; €œEzekiel 25:17€€ Alcoholism; "I demand the finest wines known to humanity!" Consumerism; €œYou are not your khakis.€ Effort and failure; €œI coulda been a contender.€ And so on and so forth. It's just far too easy to quote things.

Such is my passion for films that some say my first word was "Tarantino"; this has since been refuted. But ever since my first trip to Toy Story 2 as a wee bonnie lad, I have been hooked to films of all shapes, sizes, and quality. I also write for my own blog; confirmedhorroraddict.blogspot.co.uk
