Its evident that Spideys role in Civil War is going to be minimal at best, but his brief appearance will greatly characterize how Marvel is planning to use the character in the future, and what his own solo franchise might look like. This is not meant to be an overreaction to his inclusion in the trailer, because simply seeing him with the Avengers was undeniably amazing. That said, his costume design - an area Marvel normally excels in - left a lot to be desired. Its possible theyre still polishing it in post-production and one shot is hardly enough to go on, but it could have been better and left a lot of viewers with some mixed feelings. Its hard to imagine a supporting character causing a movie to be labeled a disaster but if we look back a decade from now and see this as the missed opportunity where yet another failed Spider-Man franchise was born, it might just look like one. So even if he doesnt single-handedly hurt the movie, his inclusion could adversely affect the MCU for years to come, let's just hope that doesn't come to pass. Do you think any of these could cause Civil War to misfire? What are you concerned about? Let us know in the comments.
