10 Ways Captain America: Civil War Could Be A Disaster

2. Too Many Characters

The classic superhero trap. It€™s what felled the original Spider-Man series and it€™s one of the main criticisms brought up when discussing the recent Age Of Ultron. As it turns out, there can be too much of a good thing, and overstuffing a movie with characters can easily backfire. With so many people involved, it€™s going to be near impossible to do everyone justice. There€™s simply too many personalities and character arcs to properly tell their stories. And if they try to give everyone their due, the Russos risk jeopardizing the entire film by detracting from the main storylines. To that end, if some of these prominent heroes are only used in a minimal capacity, audiences will be left wondering why they were bothered to be included at all. Ant-Man just established himself as a leading man, so reducing him to a couple scenes in his next film seems counter-intuitive to developing him. Even The Avengers hasn't really seen scope like this and while there's hope that Marvel can handle it, there's certainly concern that they might not be able to.
