10 Ways Doctor Strange In Spider-Man 3 Changes Everything

8. A Spider-Man Of Two Worlds

When Sony Pictures and Disney reached a new deal to keep Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was quoted as saying, "[Spider-Man] also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold."

In other words, while Spidey would continue playing a role in the MCU, there was a strong likelihood that the character was also going to start swinging into movies like Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius.

It only makes sense that Sony Pictures would want to make use of Spider-Man as well, but will this movie be used to explain how that comes to be? It would certainly make more sense for Doctor Strange to appoint Peter the protector of a corner of the Multiverse rather than Tom Holland appearing across multiple franchises playing the same, but different, versions of the web-slinger.

Assuming that "superpower to cross cinematic universes" is indeed addressed here, it will be a true game-changer for Spider-Man moving forward.
