10 Ways To Get Stupidly Rich (That We Learnt From Movies)
4. Find Hidden Treasure In The Bahamas - Fool's Gold
You don't have to sell your wife into prostitution or try to kill her for your marriage to end up on the rocks - being an over-zealous treasure hunter with little time for your wife is enough to end in divorce, as Benjamin "Finn" Finnegan discovered in the romantic comedy Fool's Gold. Starring Matthew McConaughey as Finn and Kate Hudson as his estranged wife Tess, Fool's Gold show us that if you're tenacious and committed enough you really can find buried treasure hidden in the ocean depths of the Bahamas, even if you do have to contend with rivals who are willing to stop at nothing to get to the treasure first. It's also another great example of how you can get rich quick making substandard rom-coms with dreadful scripts, lazy performances and insipid direction. Cliched and predictable, Fool's Gold opened at number 1 at the box office, reminding us that there's often very little correlation between the quality of a movie and its performance in cinemas - but at least McConaughey's finally moved away from such nonsense and proven himself bankable for his acting talent rather than his abs.
