10 Ways J.K. Rowling Has Ruined Harry Potter
8. Wrote The Script For Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindewald
The first Fantastic Beasts movie is fine. The Crimes of Grindelwald is not.
This movie's script is horrendous and introduced so many issues to the Harry Potter universe. The convoluted exposition scene of Leta Lestrange's backstory is laughable. The out-of-character switches (looking at you, Queenie) give the audience whiplash. Both Grindelwald and Dumbledore are criminally underused.
This movie is a mess, and there are still three left. Fun.
It's a shame because the movies are still beautiful to look at and hold potential for a thrilling new series. But from what we've seen so far, The Crimes of Grindelwald indicates a sad departure from the well-crafted series the world has grown to love. Here's hoping Rowling can bring it all back with the remaining instalments, but as it stands this film is a tragic fall from grace.
