One extremely brief reference in the film that's hard to shake is when Hoskins talks about the applications of genetically modified dinosaurs and mentions the idea of smaller dinosaurs, which in a war-time scenario could be used to reach areas that humans, drones and other machines simply cannot. Think about it: a gang of miniature raptors entering a vent system or a cave to take out insurgents could be the future of warfare, and to see it put to the test in the new movie would be a sight to see indeed. As long as it's not done in an overly goofy way, it has the potential to inject some much-needed flavour into the franchise. Hell, Jurassic World got away with some pretty crazy stuff (Chris Pratt riding his bike alongside his raptor bros for one, not to mention that strange look of recognition at the end of the movie), so tiny raptors probably don't present too much of a tonal problem.
