10 Ways To Make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Not Suck
4. Bring Back Casey Jones
Casey Jones was reportedly supposed to be in this movie, but the script was rewritten and he was replaced by Vernon Fenwick. Just let that sink in for a minute: Casey Jones, a long-time friend and ally of the Turtles, who has been a major part of their supporting cast and is a total bad-ass, was replaced by Vernon Fenwick, an irritating, inferior character created for the 87 cartoon. That right there sums up how little the film-makers understand this property. Casey is integral to the Turtles: both he and April provide something of a humanizing point of view for them, and it also shows that the heroes dont only need to be mutated amphibians. Casey fights right alongside the Turtles, holding his own the entire time. He was an integral aspect of the comics, the 2003 series, and the CGI film. Not to mention being played pitch-perfectly by Elias Koteas in the first live-action film. As much fun as Will Arnett is, not even he can make Vernon likable. So for the sequel, get rid of Vernon and the rest of the Channel 6 news studio. Every single one of those characters was a waste of film and had absolutely nothing of value to add. Casey Jones alone adds more to the Turtles than all those worthless characters combined.
