In 2008's Incredible Hulk movie, the titular character was in constant contact with Dr. Samuel Sterns with regards to his condition. Bruce Banner had hoped that Sterns' research would lead to him finding a cure to his Hulk "problem", but interruption from Emil Blonsky during their meeting meant nothing came to fruition on that front. Blonsky wanted the power possessed by the Hulk and attacked Sterns and Banner, which resulted in Sterns getting hurt and some of Hulk's irradiated blood dripping in to his wound. A mutation began to occur in Sterns' cranium that suggested he would transform in to the Leader but, apart from some tie-in comics (which the vast majority of movie-goers don't read), he hasn't been mentioned again. Having the Hulk going up against a telepathic foe on screen would have been cool and it's very frustrating that, despite the suggestion almost seven years ago, it never happened.
