10 Ways Sony Could Have Saved The Spider-Man Franchise Without Marvel

1. Do The Sinister Six Movie Right

Drew Goddard's Sinister Six movie would not have featured Spider-Man. Instead, it would have focused on a team led by Harry Osborn's Green Goblin, and who exactly wanted to see that after The Amazing Spider-Man 2? While The Cabin In The Woods director's take on the team would have probably been unique, there's no real appeal to seeing Spidey's bad guys together in a movie without him. While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 couldn't even handle three villains, a unique approach to this spinoff would have been to make them the main characters, and for Spider-Man to be included as the 'bad guy'. Seeing as Harry killed Gwen, perhaps that would have been a hard sell, but including Spider-Man somehow would've sent interest through the roof, and more than made up for the lacklustre events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. By the time the credits rolled, Spider-Man would have a new rogues gallery, and any one of the foes from the Sinister Six could have returned in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 seeking revenge. A missed opportunity. What would Sony's best course of action have really been? Was Marvel the best choice? Discuss the deal and what could have been down in the comments.
