9. It Can Have Great Villains
Jesse Eisenberg wasn't anyone's first choice to portray Lex Luthor.
Despite this, the longer that people have had to think on the idea, the more they seem to have embraced it. Although Eisenberg has never played someone like Lex, there are elements scattered throughout his recent filmography that build a case for him being perfect for this iconic role.
Aside from rumors, fans are still very much in the dark in regards to the character's interpretation. Lex tends to be depicted as an arrogant, sociopathic billionaire with a god complex, and Eisenberg can embody those classic characteristics very well, adding his own twists and traits along the way.
Superman has already faced a physical threat, and despite there still being similar threats in the mix–such as possible secondary villains like Metallo or Doomsday–the core of this film seems like it might be centered on a psychological threat. The machinations of one man trying to make the world fear Kal and his potential to unleash chaos, before opening Pandora's Box himself.
The result could be one of the best villains since Heath Ledger's iconic turn as the Joker.
