10 Ways The Marvel Multiverse Could Kill The MCU

9. Way Too Many Crossovers

Crossovers are already a big part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while that's not a bad thing by any means, the introduction of a Multiverse makes it feel like pretty much every upcoming movie will be taking advantage of that to open the door to even more team-ups.

Spider-Man 3 is a great example of that. Rumour has it that Tom Holland will share the screen with both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire - a fun idea, but one that means the spotlight is quite literally going to be split into three. That threequel should be focusing on what it means for Peter Parker to be framed as a murderer and have his identity revealed to the world, but instead, it's just another event.

It's going to be hard for Marvel Studios to resist the temptation to play around with alternate versions of familiar faces, and with more and more of them factoring into these movies, it's possible that the main MCU heroes could become the least interesting characters in their own solo outings.
