10 Ways The MCU Isn't For You Anymore

9. You Have To Watch Films Outside The MCU As Well

Okay, watching 19 movies in a franchise to understand the 20th movie is quite an ordeal. But playing devil's advocate, it make sense. Since each of these characters do exist in the same universe, it's understandable why their stories would be interlinked.

But Marvel Studios might be asking a bit much when they expect us to watch movies that aren't even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When Disney acquired the rights of all 20th Century Fox properties in 2019, Marvel Studios was allowed to incorporate certain characters into the MCU that were previously off-limits, like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. And with the Marvel Netflix series being implemented into the MCU, Jessica Jones, the Punisher, and Luke Cage could very well appear beside the Avengers in the future.

But as hard as it is to believe, there are some comics fans who aren't familiar with Marvel properties outside the MCU.

Some viewers didn't have a clue who Kingpin was in Hawkeye, because they've never seen Daredevil. If you haven't watched all the Sony Spider-Man movies, you mightn't have recognised certain villains in No Way Home. If you haven't seen X-Men, Professor X's introduction in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness won't have the same impact.

As a result, some viewers may feel like they have to wade through tons of tv series and films just to understand every single detail in the franchise.
