10 Ways The Prequels Made Star Wars A Better Saga

10. Established a Galaxy In Its Final Days Of Peace

SW Menace 3 We all love the visuals of the Star Wars galaxy but when we were first invited to join in the fun, the galaxy was at war and vehicles were built accordingly. There was no time for beauty or style. Original trilogy era Star Wars is mass production, guns attached, get €˜em built and get €˜em out there looks. Episode I was before all that. Before the dark times. Before the Empire. What Lucas gave us on Naboo was a depiction of a galaxy at peace. Art Deco designs for vehicles with classic styling, beautifully constructed castles and cities and costumes that felt of a simpler time, of monarchies and idealistic people. Naboo, in part gives us a vision of what the rebels are fighting to protect in the original trilogy. A group of good people in a world full of beauty and style. This, in some ways transfers over to Coruscant as well. Though of course, the fact that this is a world entirely covered in development and technology doesn't exactly lend itself to an ideal planet and of course the political state of affairs is about to take a turn of the worse. Coruscant may be the centre of a galaxy but its over development and corruption is a theme that carries through the prequels and bleeds into the original trilogy, even though the planet is only seen in a sliver of a scene at the end of Return of the Jedi.
