X-Men: Apocalypse: 10 Ways To Ensure It's The Best In The Series

10. Wolverine Needs To Take A Back Seat

Hugh Jackman has been playing the character of Wolverine for almost fourteen years now. Since the original X-Men was released in July 2000 he has appeared in some way shape or form in every single X-Men movie. He€™s had two solo movies (with a third on the way) before anybody else has had their first. In a recent interview together, Jackman & Peter Dinklage (who plays military scientist Bolivar Trask in DOFP) were both asked about their future with the franchise. While Dinklage gave an amusingly humble answer by crossing his fingers and simply hoping he still has a place in the series, Jackman had to feign a sense of humility alongside his co-star and give the same type of answer. You start to realize, he isn€™t going anywhere, Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine as long as he€™s physically able to. Now this isn€™t necessarily a bad thing, at this point it€™s hard to even imagine another actor portraying the character. After the events of DOFP the character also raised some questions we need answered. Such as what does Mystique do with him after retrieving him from the river? Does he go through with the Weapon X program and get his Adamantium claws once again? On the other hand, jeez, the X-Men cinematic universe has dozens of other characters we€™d like to see further explored, with a plethora more they could possible introduce in the future. So, Wolverine doesn't need to leave completely but he definitely needs to take a backseat during the proceedings.
