10 Ways to Make an Awesome Terminator Sequel

3. Bring Back Linda Hamilton

This is a tricky suggestion, but I think, in the super futuristic world these movies live in there are probably many ways in which this could happen. Terminator 3 suggested that Sarah Connor died of cancer between Terminator 2 and Terminator 3... but we never see this scene, so maybe this was all a hoax, and John Connor could find her alive and well as an old women living in the apocalyptic future.

There could also be a possibility in which this film could explore that before she is able to die of the disease, the future John Connor... or perhaps his wife or even enemy in the film sends back someone to retrieve Sarah Connor and potentially cure her of her disease so she can live with the adult John Connor in the future... but having written all this out just now it does actually sound somewhat lame this way doesn't it? I am sure part of Sarah Connor was happy that she wasn't alive to see the war, though having said that I know she would also like her chance to kick some robot ass, so maybe this plan of retrieving her from the past isn't as lame as it sounds.

Potentially also, John Connor or again, someone working against him, could have a Sarah Connor "Terminator" made to either act as comfort and guidance for John, or she could even play the evil "Terminator" in the movie and could be the one who is sent back to the past to stop her human self from being born. I am not sure how I feel about this option... part of me would love to see Linda Hamilton play a dead eyed Terminating machine... though unless this was done right (and there is a 90% chance it wouldn't be) this could potentially make the viewer lose all respect they have for this actress and Sarah Connor as a character.

A better option to include Linda Hamilton (which I really think they should seeing as she carried the first two films and was the best thing about them) would be to do either one of three things. Firstly and most simply, include her in flashbacks exploring parts of her and John's life together we have yet to see.

Secondly, just like Helena Bonham Carter in Salvation, you could use Linda's face as the face of a computer program that could act as a sort of guide to John Connor throughout the films. But my favorite suggestion, and what I would do, is to cast Linda Hamilton as the mother of the young woman who will in the future give birth to Sarah Connor... therefore effectively have Linda Hamilton play Sarah Connor's grandmother.
