More often than not, avid movie fans have ruined a film for themselves long before they ever set foot inside a cinema. Our constant stream of news, spoilers, telling plot synopses, behind-the-scenes-sneak-peeks and especially trailers have ground out the idea that we could possibly walk into a movie without knowing whats going to happen, whos going to die and the exact cliffhanger moment the story will end on. The trailers alone are a huge problem. Many of them include all best jokes and jaw-dropping effects which nullify their own existence by making you aware of them. Were all just waiting for the trailer moments now, and the result is that while were counting the seconds until the next spaceship crash or anthropomorphic animal wisecrack were actually missing out on all the other good stuff the filmmakers have hopefully stuffed the movie with. But trailers remain as popular as ever because, clearly, we just cant help ourselves.
