10 Weakest Links In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

3. Always Having To Explain Where Missing Characters Are

A minor point, but a weak point in the MCU mainframe, nonetheless. Think back to all those times, in which one character is asked a question along the lines of: "Where's ? Couldn't they be bothered to show up?" whilst another character is forced to make a lame excuse like, "Oh, they're busy working on a special project," or "You know how is! Always disappearing off the face of the Earth and such." Yeah, okay. The problem, of course, is that the MCU has established a world in which several famous superheroes all live and work in close proximity to one another, and yet they can't always show up when at times when they surely would because this is Hollywood - people are busy. Worst still, Marvel seem to want to address the issues of absence every time, and it's awkward to listen to the same exchanges. So Jane isn't at the party in Age Of Ultron - who cares? Do we really need to justify her whereabouts whenever Natalie Portman decides that she doesn't want to play such an inherently boring character? Essentially, though, this exposes one of the key flaws inherent to the MCU; whereas the comics can implement any character at any time, the MCU remains somewhat restricted and - in turn - flawed.
