This cameo is especially bizarre because it marks the only instance that an actor not called Stan Lee appeared in both the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and the Marc Webb-directed reboot franchise.

Michael Papajohn first appeared in Raimi's original Spider-Man as Dennis Carradine, the thief who ends up killing Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) after Peter lets him escape with the stolen money (pictured below). Until Spider-Man 3 awkwardly retconned Ben's killer to be Flint Marko aka Sandman (Thomas Hayden Church) instead, anyway.

Strangely, Papajohn re-appears in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, this time playing Alfred, the limo driver of Oscorp executive Rajit Ratha (Irrfan Khan).

Originally, Papajohn asked producers to once again play Uncle Ben's (Martin Sheen) killer, but ultimately that role was given to a younger actor, Leif Gantvoort.

Though Papajohn's face didn't change much in the decade between movies, his different hair style and suited-up appearance nevertheless make it tough for the uninformed to spot this one.
