10 Weirdest Dracula Adaptations

The edgy turn of the millennium Dracula retelling dials the sex appeal way up and gives us an undead romp in the new world, which is accompanied by an oh-so ’00s nu-metal soundtrack.

Due to a botched robbery, in which erstwhile thieves make the mistake of thinking that the only thing worth locking away is riches, Dracula’s coffin with his slumbering body inside it is stolen and taken on a jaunt across the Atlantic.

Of course, the thieves don’t fare well, and Dracula finds himself in a hip and happening Virgin Megastore. Pity they haven’t lasted as long as Dracula has.

Dracula wanders around the uber-hip New Orleans being all alluring. It’s not long before he catches the eye of the great-granddaughter of his century-old nemesis, Van Helsing. They go on a madcap adventure, hitting all the familiar beats of the original story, but in the new setting. Dracula must have had a bloody strong sense of deja vu.

Then out of nowhere, we get all biblical and it turns out that Dracula was Judas Iscariot all along. It's nice to throw in something new every now and then. Anyway, in a bit of poetic justice, he’s hung from a crucifix and everyone lives happily ever after.
