10 Weirdest Films In The IMDb Top 250

9. Rush (No. 161)

There's nothing wrong with Rush; it's a good, enjoyable blockbuster with great action scenes and fine performances from Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl. It also garnered positive reviews at the box office and is probably Ron Howard's best movie in a long, long time. And yet... the IMDb Top 250? Is this really a movie that belongs in the IMDb Top 250? It's fine and all, solid in almost every way - but that's all that Rush is: a noticeably "solid" movie film. It seems a bit weird that a movie that is so plainly "fine" (and content to be so) found its way onto a list like the IMDb Top 250. It's not like it had all the fanfare of, say, a newly-released Christopher Nolan movie behind it - nor was it a critical darling or major Oscar winner. That's not to deride this very watchable Formula One flick - just to ponder its inclusion on the list. It seems oddly misplaced; a safe choice in an otherwise eclectic list of movies.
