Looking at the poster for comedy movie 3 Idiots, you could be sorely mistaken for thinking that it was an Indian version of The Hangover or something - and you wouldn't be far off. It clings to a plot that could very much could have been used for an unmade chapter of The Hangover saga; a bunch of crazy friends embark on a journey that will lead them to a wedding, a funeral, and then some (there's a whole lot more drama here, though). But 3 Idiots being on the IMDb Top 250 is just about as weird as if the The Hangover was on the IMDb Top 250 (sort of). Though there's heaps more artistic merit inherent to this actually pretty good dramedy than anything ever glimpsed in The Hangover (it's a fairly admirable meditation on friendship), it's a strange picture to be held with such Top 250 esteem. Once again, the hefty population of India has played a huge part on getting this one on the list.
