1. The Fantastic Four Marvel Didn't Want You To See
Admittedly, Marvel's First Family might be even worse served on-screen than either Captain America or Spider-Man. Hopefully the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four does better than the previous attempts to bring them to the screen, because it's been a woeful business so far. Still, at least the Tim Story films got the special effects right if nothing else can't say the same for Roger Corman. The B-movie maestro bought the movie rights to the characters for peanuts when Marvel were at their lowest ebb, filing for bankruptcy in the mid-nineties. Still, they managed to find an extra million lying around which they paid to Corman so that he would never, ever release the Fantastic Four film he made. Was it really that bad? Yes. Yes it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON57I0i3ryw Whilst Corman could be commended for using practical effects rather than CGI, it's clear the sponge-covered Thing, an Invisible Woman who disappears from frame by pausing the camera and moving her out before recording again, and Mr Fantastic's stretching abilities rendered by pushing a washing up glove along on a broom were more down to the paltry amount of money he was spending on the production rather than any artistic vision. At least, you sure hope there was no artistic intent in what they did with the Human Torch. The most ridiculous part of this early episode, though? The film became a major plot point in the fourth season of Arrested Development...
