10 Weirdest Moments In The Early Days Of Marvel Movies
10. Tin-Helmet Thor
The current high-budget, high-stakes superhero movies Marvel produce are almost unrecognisable from the sort they were making a few decades ago. Case in point: before Mark Ruffalo came along, the most famous version of The Hulk was the one played by Bill Bixby (pre-transformation) and Lou Feringo (post-transformation; to this day he does the voice). The seventies Incredible Hulk TV series remains a cultural touchstone apart from the comics, airing 82 episodes over five seasons, before capping it all off with a series of TV movies of...varying quality. Actually, all pretty much the same uniformly cheap and cheesy. The first of those spin-offs was 1988's The Incredible Hulk Returns, which introduced another Marvel character to the fold. The Mighty Thor is even less recognisable compared to his current iteration than Banner, with no worthiness disclaimer on his hammer, no thunder powers, a confusing secret identity and a store-bough Viking costume with a tin helmet.
