10 Weirdest Presidential Portrayals In Film

Richard Nixon plays a surprisingly pivotal role in the latest X-Men film, as it is his decision to approve Bolivar Trask's Sentinel program that ultimately leads to the events of the movie. His portrayal as something of an anti-mutant President looking to protect humanity is rather convincing, but he has a much bigger role to play in proceedings later on.

Or - to be more specific - Mystique disguised as Nixon has a much larger role to play,

During the unveiling of the Sentinel program, Nixon is led away to a safe room when Magneto goes on the attack and tries to disable the program before it ever gets off the ground.

Eventually Magneto manages to get to the safe room by yanking it away from the White House with his metal-controlling abilities and prepares to kill Nixon and the rest of his cabinet, thus putting into motion the events that would lead to the destruction of the world.

However, he is foiled when it turns out to be Mystique who is disguised as Nixon and she manages to take him down using a plastic gun.
