10 Weirdest Roles Of Johnny Depp's Career (So Far)

10. Captain Jack Sparrow

493610-captain_jack_sparrow___johnny_depp_super The role that really catapulted Depp to the big time in a way no one could really have ever imagined. A swashbuckling adventure based on a theme park ride, Disney€™s Pirates Of The Caribbean has gone on to become one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, and the largest part of that success is down to Depp€™s Captain Jack Sparrow (for which he received an Oscar nod). He flounces around in a manner that is both drunken and campy, sporting an impressive tan and braided beard and generally being all flailing arms and legs. He may be doing a Keith Richards impression, but it€™s a darn convincing one. There€™s no doubt that he is having an enormous amount of fun playing the character, and whatever the problems to the various sequels (and there are undoubtedly many) he remains an entertaining character to watch. There€™s a small ocean separating genius and insanity, and Depp€™s Sparrow maniacally sails the Black Pearl in it, savvy?.
