10 Weirdest Roles Of Johnny Depp's Career (So Far)
3. The Wolf
The most recent role on this list, Depp only appears as The Big Bad Wolf briefly in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway hit Into The Woods, but its certainly one of the scenes that youll remember once youve left the cinema. Once again showcasing his ability to sort-of-sing-without-really-singing, Depps Wolf is a character that could be taken a couple of ways. Is he simply an over-the-top panto villain, or is there something rather more sinister to his stalking of Little Red Riding Hood, with the song Hey, Little Girl erring awfully close to paedophilia. Thats more an issue with the Sondheim lyrics (and perhaps the entire Red Riding Hood story) than Depps performance, but he is certainly suitably weird and creepy in the role.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
