8. Daphne - Scooby Doo

Daphne is the popular girl of the Scooby Doo gang, the cheerleader to Velma's nerd, Fred's jock, and Shaggy's stoner. She doesn't really contribute much on the cartoon, except getting captured a lot and having a keen fashion sense. Daphne is more than willing to let her boy toy Fred and his ridiculous ascot take charge in most of the situations. What she lacks in the ability to keep herself safe, she makes up for in enthusiasm, a dangerous combination which led to her earning the nickname Danger Prone Daphne. At least in the early seasons of the show, she was pretty much the definition of a damsel in distress. Only later into the run of show (and further along into women's lib), did she start to become a more competent and independent figure. Boys like her either way, and while there's always a subset of guys with a soft spot for Velma, Daphne was the dream girl. A perfectly good reason to watch Saturday morning cartoons in her own right.
