10 Well Known Actors Who Got Worse Over Time
1. John Travolta
Last, but certainly not least, we have John Travolta, who has built an extensive career. He kicked off his work in the seventies with great performances in Saturday Night Fever and Grease, but then fell into awful comedies and some of the worst movies ever made in the following decade, despite the odd exception like Blow Out.
After bagging two best actor Oscars for Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction, a set of lacklustre efforts followed throughout the 2000s. Swordfish, The Punisher and The Taking of Pelham 123 ranged from mediocre to uninteresting, unable to bring out his former talent. However, the most crushing blow had already arrived at the turn of the millennium.
Of course, we're talking about the abysmal Battlefield Earth from 2000. Not only did Travolta turn in an atrocious performance, but his apparent connections to scientology caused a lot of controversy. The flick swept the Razzie awards and became a lethal dose of poison that tarnished the actor's reputation.
With dreadful releases like Wild Hogs and Old Dogs, Travolta firmly planted himself at the bottom of the barrel, and with recent bombs like Gotti, it's hard to imagine how he will ever pull himself out.
